Cavaliers defeat Warriors in Game 3 with 30-point difference. They went into this game with Do Or Die mind set and it clearly reflected in the very 1st quarter with comfortable double digit lead.

CLE 120 - GSW 90

What Cavaliers did in Game 3 is what was missing in the first 2 games of this series.

Confidence and Execution!

It is surprise to see Jefferson in the starting lineup and he made it count, loud and clear. In fact, very clear in the first quarter. Cavs keep it going after this and never lost their focus. Cavs were simply “All In”

Highlight : Single handed dunk by LeBron! It was all started as a quick steal by LeBron, holding on to the ball even after falling (off balance) down, getting up and passing it to Kyrie, going into paint, receiving the ball from Kyrie, executing the Dunk with his right hand while still in the air. A Windmill Dunk! He makes it looks so easy but he makes his statements by these kind of plays.

Kyrie was on fire today and got it going early. J R Smith back in action along with Tristan Thompson. It's fun to watch when Cavs play like this. Unlike other teams, you can feel their emotions!

Game 4 is home game for Cavs and as LeBron said after the game, they need keep playing the way they played in Game 3. Love is still not cleared the concussion protocol and most likely will be available for Game 4 on Friday.

From LeBron James (after the game)

  • 15 turnovers on a road game is not a good ingredient to win the game
  • We had a game plan and we followed as much as possible and will continue the same in Game 2
  • 28 missing shots! We have to do better than that!
  • We are going to have a better offensive plan for Game 2
  • Game ball goes to Livingston!

From Tyronn Lue (after the game)

  • 28 shots in the paint and we didn't finish around the basket so we got to keep playing
  • I thought we were fine I feel good about how we played it all down
  • You don't get into the basket and you don't miss 28 shots in the paint.
  • It is going to be better next game
  • We did a good job on locking Steph and Klay. We will go back to the drawing board and try to repeat the same.
  • Warriors bench scored 45 points. We need to have a better plan!
Action items:

  • More trips to paint and finishing
  • Kyrie sharing the ball
  • Love and J R Smith getting the ball
  • Plan for bench players
  • More aggresive play but not turning over the ball
  • Keep scoring. Just keep scoring
  • Same or better plan for lockdown Steph and Klay, again in Game 2
Go Cavs as always!

Warriors made a quick and surprise last quarter run, ended in 15-0 to close out the game. Warriors bench took control of the game and won the game 1 for Warriors!

NBA Finals - 2016
Warriors 1 – Cavaliers 0

15 turnovers and 28 missed shots proved to be very costly for the Cavaliers. Cavs were up by 3 in the 4th but not sure what happened after that. Delly and Iggy had some moments and everything changed after that. Warriors took advantage of the situation and surprised Cavs!

James (after the game)
" We have a game plan and we followed as much as possible so it is great! we got to do a better job!"

Curry and Thompson had a bad night. For Cavs, J R Smith had a bad night.

For those who like to see number, Plot 1 and 2 are for Cavaliers and Plot 2 and 3 for Golden State Warriors. Interestingly, Cavs had 3 players above 20 Net Player Score percentages compared to Warriors. Warriors had just 2 players in this range.

Cavs need to reset their mindset so do Warriors! Game # 2 will be really interesting.
