This time it all took one game to realize the importance of offence from all key players. We needed a high score and high energy game from the start to finish. 1st quarter exactly reflected that feeling and it carried into the remaining 3 quarters as well.  Grizzlies did not have a chance to recover from first 12 minutes and it was uphill battle from there for them. I think they will wake up for sure as they had a pretty good run last year.

Here are my NPS (Net Player Score) rankings for each player based on after the game stats. These rankings are based on the Number Of Minutes they are on the floor and their respective Stats (Points, Steals, Turn Overs, Personal Fouls, Blocked Against, Blocked Scored, Total Offensive and Defensive Rebounds). As you can see Love has one of the best game so far and LeBron even mentioned this point very clearly. Love is going to be the focal point for the long term offense strategy well deep in to the season and playoffs. Overall offense, rotation and most importantly communication throughout the game is superb. Blatt did a good job too!

NPS (Net Player Score) = Above 90 – Outstanding | Above 80 – Excellent | Above 70 – Very Good | Above 60 – Good

Grizzlies were 55-27 in last season with frequent playoff visits. Talent was plenty but with lack of experience playoffs exits were also too soon. Zach and Marc can take over the game and they are good on closing as well. I am expecting a high score game both teams.  As this is Grizzlies home game and Cavs road game in two days, Cavs have less than 24 hours to adjust their game plan.

  • Mo Williams hit 19 points with 4 rebounds and 7 assists.
  • Kevin Love hit 18 points with 8 rebounds and 4 assists
  • J R Smith played 30 minutes with a total of 8 points

Apart from LeBron going to paint more often, key to this game would be, J R Smith doing the same.

Based on my predictions, Mo did have a great game with 19 points and Love with 18. CLE offense missed on all shots with LeBron on the sideline and allowed CHI for a 8-0 run. I think we need to do a better job on the defense and attack the paint.

3 point shooting did not work out very well in this game and on few occasions we can clearly see the miscommunication. I would not read much into this loss and in fact happy to see the Team Chemistry is also building up.

We just had 1 Outstanding Player and 2 Very Good players based on my NPS (Net Player Score).
